New Guest Announced, Molly Kiely!

Joining us for SiliCon 2007 is underground artist Molly Kiely. Molly has peppered her art through many zines and other underground publications for years but her most recognized work has been published by underground mainstay FantaGraphics Books. Ms.Kiely has a no apologies take on adult comics and was even an expert witness for the defense in the notorious "Answer Me!" magazine obscenity trials. Achieving fame and fortune for her art is not a high priority to Molly. In her own words, "I'm not a joiner; I avoid galleries and anything resembling a scene. If anyone asks me point blank whether I'm an artist, I usually just shrug my shoulders and say, "Kinda...". Make no mistake, the woman has talent, so take advantage of this opportunity to meet this seldom seen and unpretentious underground personality at SiliCon 2007!

Jim has also collaborated with Brian Michael Bendis on the Ultimates and keeps busy with album covers, online comics, tour posters, and lots more. Jim's style is wildly explosive with his use of color. His take on the Marvel Universe was something turned many fans on their ears. Reminder: Sac-Con this weekend Dec. 10th!

Just a quick reminder!

We're headed up to Sacramento to attend the Sac-Con comic book convention on Sunday December 10th. This event happens four times a year and always promises to be a fun. There is a large dealers room, gaming tournaments all day, costume events, charity auction, art contest, and great guests including Tony Todd from Star Trek! Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen emergency, Denise Crosby will be unable to attend. Look for her to return to Sac-Con event in the near future. The convention only costs $6.00 to get in and is located at The Scottish Rite Masonic Center at 6151 H Street, Sacramento right across from Sacramento State University. Check the website for more info and updates.

Rocky horror is back in the South Bay!

Rocky Horror is back in the SiliCon Valley with the return of the Bawdy Caste! Established in 1995 Bawdy Caste has been the featured cast in several local South Bay theatres. They have now found a new home at the Guild Theatre in Menlo Park. We attended the first show and had great time. Several other California casts came by to usher in the new digs. Wild and Untamed Things from West Hills, Slugs in Fishnets from Sant Cruz, Erotic Nightmares, Denton Delinquents, and Barely Legal all had cast members in attendence. After the obligitory technical difficulties of any premiere night the show was off to a fun start. The "virgin sacrifice" was a marathon bad dance contest and everyone seemed to have good time. The show itself was a blast and the audience really got into the participating with the cast. We look forward to seeing this theatre keep the show running for many years to come. Get yourself out of the house and spend the night in absolute pleasure with The Bawdy Caste! Shows occur the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month on Saturday night, midnight at the Guild Theatre 949 El Camino Real Menlo Park, CA 94025.
